A washer that stops full of water, a puddle under the machine, an error code flashing on the display: laundry piles up fast. Need washer repair Sherbrooke homeowners can count on? Our certified technicians come to your home with their diagnostic tools. They find the cause and explain the cost before touching anything. We can serve you in English over the phone.
On this page: the most common breakdowns, what you can check yourself before calling, what the common error codes mean and how the visit works.

Each symptom points to a few specific parts. Here’s where the technician starts.

Water sits at the bottom of the drum and the cycle stops before the spin. Usually a clogged pump filter, a kinked hose or a worn drain pump.
A puddle in front, behind or under the machine. The door seal, a hose or the pump are the usual suspects.
Clothes come out soaking wet or the drum doesn’t turn. Belt, motor, lid switch or control board.
The cycle starts, but water doesn’t come in, or only trickles in. Taps, inlet screens or water inlet valve.
A rumble that gets louder on the spin, or banging against the wall. Shock absorbers, suspension or bearings.
The door stays locked or the buttons stop responding. Door lock, switch or power supply.

Safety first. Unplug the washer before opening a panel or touching the hose.
In most cases, water stays in the drum because something is blocking its way to the drain. A few simple checks can solve the problem, or at least save the technician time.
Start a drain or spin cycle. If the water drains, the cause may have been an unbalanced load or too much detergent.
It shouldn’t be kinked or crushed behind the machine, or frozen if it runs through a cold area. In January in Sherbrooke, it happens.
On a front-load washer, it’s behind the small panel at the bottom front. Have towels and a shallow pan ready: water will come out. Coins, socks, hair clips: we find everything in there.
A hum with no water moving, or no sound at all, often points to the drain pump or its power supply.
If the water still won’t move, stop there. A burned-out pump, a faulty lid switch or a control board needs a diagnosis with the right tools.
Where the water shows up already says a lot about the part involved. An old rubber hose can burst without warning: if yours are the originals, the technician can check them during the visit.
While you wait for the visit, turn off the water taps behind the washer, mop up the floor and avoid starting another cycle.
Torn or dirty door seal, or suds overflowing because of too much detergent.
Cracked supply hose, worn connector washer or drain hose not secured in the drain.
Drain pump, tub or an internal hose that gave out.
Wall drain overflowing or a connection that moves when the washer vibrates.
A washer error code doesn’t name the broken part. It tells you which system has a problem: draining, filling, door or motor. Here are the codes we see most often. They can vary from one model to another, so your manual remains the reference.
Before calling, write down the exact code and the model number, printed on the label inside the door opening or at the back. Unplugging the washer for a minute sometimes clears a one-time code. If it comes back, the problem is real.
On a washer that’s still in good shape, repairing is almost always the right call. A pump, a hose, a door lock or a belt can be replaced without the bill getting close to the price of a new machine.
The question mostly comes up for the drum bearings on a front-load washer. According to Quebec consumer magazine Protégez-Vous (in French), that repair can cost almost as much as a new washer. In that case, we tell you frankly and you decide, with no pressure.
No surprises: here’s what happens between your call and a washer that runs again. We travel everywhere in Sherbrooke and to several towns in the Eastern Townships (see our service areas).

Call us or write to us, we’ll get back to you.
It mostly depends on the part involved. A clogged filter or a hose costs far less than a control board or bearings. We can’t give an honest number without a diagnosis, so the technician explains the cost before starting.
If the part is available, the repair is done during the visit. If it has to be ordered, we come back as soon as it arrives. The technician gives you an estimate at the time of the diagnosis.
No. If you can, take the clothes out and mop up the floor. Clear access to the washer and, if it’s built in or stacked, leave a bit of room to pull it out.
Better not. A leak near electrical parts or under the floor can cause damage that costs more than the repair. Turn off the supply taps and wait for the diagnosis.
Yes, both, as well as stacked washer-dryer units, all brands. Give us the brand and model when you contact us: it helps us bring the right part.
Clean the pump filter a few times a year and measure HE detergent for the load, since too much detergent builds up and overflows. Leave the door ajar after the wash and don’t overload the drum.
