Réparation Électro Sherbrooke

Privacy Policy

In effect since October 29, 2026. Here’s what we do with your personal information, in plain terms.

This is an English translation for convenience. If there is any difference, the French version prevails.

Our commitment

Réparation Électro Sherbrooke repairs household appliances at home in Sherbrooke and the Eastern Townships. To serve you, we need some personal information: your name, your contact details and details about your appliance.

This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what your rights are. It applies to the reparationelectrosherbrooke.ca website and to the information you give us by phone, by email or during a visit. It follows Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.

Person in charge of the protection of personal information

For any question, request or complaint about your personal information, contact:

Person in charge of the protection of personal information
Réparation Électro Sherbrooke
Email: info@reparationelectrosherbrooke.ca
Phone: 438 798-5778

This role is held by the person with the highest authority in the business.

The information we collect

When you fill in the quote request form: your full name, phone, email, postal code, the appliance involved and the description of the problem.

When you fill in the contact form: your full name, email, phone, subject and message.

When you call us or a technician visits: your name, contact details, the address for the repair, the brand, model and serial number of the appliance, details of the problem and the work, and the information needed for billing.

Technical data: like any website, our server automatically records some technical data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, date and time) to keep the site secure and working properly. We don’t use audience measurement, targeted advertising or profiling tools.

We never ask for sensitive information. Please don’t enter any in message fields.

Why we use it

We use your information only to:

  • answer your request and call you back;
  • prepare a quote and schedule a technician’s visit;
  • carry out the requested repair or installation;
  • bill you and manage the warranty on the work;
  • meet our legal obligations, including tax obligations;
  • protect the site against abuse and attacks.

We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information. We don’t send you advertising or newsletters without your consent.

Your consent

By sending us a form, calling us or writing to us, you consent to our using your information for the purposes described above. If we want to use it for another purpose, we’ll ask for your approval first.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the person in charge. Withdrawing it may prevent us from serving you, and some information must be kept when the law requires it.

Cookies and third-party services

Our site doesn’t set any audience measurement or advertising cookies. However, two Google services are built into the site:

  • Google Fonts: the site’s fonts are loaded from Google’s servers, which then receive your IP address;
  • Google Maps: some pages show an embedded map. Google may then collect data and set its own cookies.

This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who we share your information with

Only the people on our team who need it to serve you have access to your information. We also share it, when needed, with providers who help us run the business:

  • our web host, which hosts the site and the requests sent through forms;
  • our email provider, which delivers the requests we receive;
  • your appliance’s manufacturer, only if needed for a warranty claim and with your approval.

These providers may only use your information to serve us. Some may store it outside Quebec. Before sharing information outside Quebec, we make sure it will be adequately protected there.

We may also have to share information without your consent when the law requires or allows it, for example at the request of a competent authority.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes it was collected for: following up on your request, the warranty on the work and legal obligations, including tax obligations. A request that didn’t lead to a service is deleted when it’s no longer useful.

After that, the information is securely destroyed or anonymized.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable measures to protect your information against loss, theft and unauthorized access: an encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the whole site, access limited to the people who need it and password-protected accounts.

If a confidentiality incident occurs, we take the necessary steps to reduce the risk of harm and record it in our incident register. If the incident presents a risk of serious harm, we notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned.

Your rights

You have the right:

  • to know what information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • to have inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information corrected;
  • to withdraw your consent;
  • to receive the information you gave us in a structured, commonly used technological format;
  • to ask us to stop disseminating information about you, in the cases provided by law.

To exercise these rights, write to the person in charge at info@reparationelectrosherbrooke.ca. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We’ll answer in writing no later than 30 days after receiving your request. Access to your information is free. Reasonable fees may apply for transcription, reproduction or transmission, and we’ll tell you in advance.

Complaints

If you believe your information wasn’t handled properly, first write to the person in charge: we’ll review your complaint and answer in writing.

You can also contact Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information: www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.

Minors

Our services are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information about a person under 14 without the consent of their parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The version in effect is always published on this page, with its date. If there’s a significant change, we’ll make it clear on the site.

Effective date: October 29, 2026.
